SKILLCARD « Règle de la chaîne » — MPSI à PTSI

Quand l’utiliser ?

Pour dériver t↦f(x(t),y(t))t \mapsto f(x(t), y(t)) ou un changement de variables.

La règle

ddtf(x(t),y(t))=∂f∂xx′(t)+∂f∂yy′(t)\frac{d}{dt} f(x(t), y(t)) = \frac{\partial f}{\partial x} x'(t) + \frac{\partial f}{\partial y} y'(t) — ff de classe C1\mathcal{C}^1.

Exemple

g(t)=f(cos⁡t,sin⁡t)g(t) = f(\cos t, \sin t) ⇒ g′(t)=−sin⁡t ∂xf+cos⁡t ∂yfg'(t) = -\sin t\,\partial_x f + \cos t\,\partial_y f

Les pièges à éviter

Les dérivées partielles sont évaluées au point (x(t),y(t))(x(t), y(t)), pas en tt.
